WRC 2013 Leadership Position Applications

Thank you for your interest in becoming more involved with Wharton Retail Club! We are currently trying to fill three exciting new positions, all of which will be appointed for the duration of the Spring 2013 semester.

  • Photographer
  • Deputy VP of Events
  • Marketing Committee Ambassador
What We’re Looking For
  1. An interest in retail
  2. Official WRC membership as of January 2013
  3. Desire to act as one of the four primary advisers to the President, and to perform any relevant external functions of the President in cases where the President is unable to fulfill his/her obligations.

Available Positions

Photograher

The Photographer will be responsible for photographing and documenting all WRC events.

  • Attend and photograph all major WRC events, including GBMs, career treks, panels, conferences, etc.
  • Coordinate with VP Marketing, Deputy VP of Digital Media & Design, and Deputy VP of External Communications to use photos in all marketing materials (flyers, website, social media, Penn publications, etc.)
  • Manage online DropBox of all club pictures

Marketing Committee Ambassador

The Marketing Committee will assist the VP of Marketing, VP of External Communication, and the Deputy VP of Digital Media & Design with logistical marketing tasks. The Marketing Committee will also complete a small marketing project over the course of the semester.  As a committee ambassador, you will attend monthly committee meetings in addition to participating in the above activities.

  • Participate in semester-long marketing project
    • With our new membership policy, the project’s objective will be to demonstrate the benefits of WRC membership to both the broader Penn community and current WRC club members
    • For reference, last year’s marketing project was a “What is Retail?” promotional video
  • Formally present project to the executive board and general WRC members at an appropriate GBM
  • Assist in distribution of marketing materials
  • Interact with WRC’s Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Deputy VP of Events

The Deputy VP of Events will work closely with the VP of Events to plan and execute logistics prior and during WRC events. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to organizing and confirming accommodations such as catering and guest speaker travel arrangements, greeting guest speakers at the door and escorting them to event locations, as well picking up materials needed to set up our events prior and cleaning up after. Our Deputy VP of Events will also play a crucial role in organizing our career treks, putting together the in itineraries, preparing resume books and assisting the VP of Events in making sure our trips run smoothly on the day of.
